Challenge

This project presented a significant challenge: a major basement renovation following severe flooding. Our client envisioned transforming a potentially dark and damp space into a bright, inviting living area. This required both addressing extensive water damage and mitigating future moisture issues, and also implementing innovative design solutions to maximize natural light and create an uplifting ambiance throughout the basement.

Solution

This comprehensive approach successfully transformed the flood-damaged basement into a lighter, brighter, and more inviting living space. By carefully considering color, materials, and design, we overcame the negative visual impact of the flood damage and created a comfortable and functional area for the entire family to enjoy.  It was a successful basement transformation from flood zone to family oasis!   Our process was: 

• Illuminating Color Palette: To brighten the basement, we chose Baby's Breath for the walls. This versatile white features a soft blue undertone, infusing the space with a sense of freshness and serenity. We paired it with Chantilly Lace on the trim, doors, and ceiling, creating a clean and crisp contrast that enhanced the overall brightness. Baby's Breath is inherently sophisticated and endlessly versatile, and, as such, suits tranquil, serene environments as well as creates color-enhancing accents for dynamic spaces.

• Sophisticated Accents: For a touch of understated elegance, we painted the hand railing in Raccoon Fur, adding depth and visual intrigue.

• Bathroom Refresh: The bathroom was revitalized with Pure White, a cool and crisp white that feels exceptionally light. Subtle gray and blue notes add softness and crispiness, ensuring it's far from an ordinary white.
